Things You Should Expect After Booking an HVAC Installation

If you’re planning on upgrading or replacing your old heating and/or air conditioning system, once you’ve booked your installation date, the hardest part is over. In today’s post, air conditioning repair company Air Quality shares an overview of what you should expect before and during your HVAC installation.

Payment Plan

A standard HVAC installation service—and most home improvement projects, for that matter—are paid in installments. A down payment is usually due when you sign the contract, while the other half is paid upon completion. In case your project is eligible for rebates, your HVAC contractor will help you complete registration and submit other required documentation.

Installation Timeframe

Heating and air conditioning systems usually take anywhere from half a day up to three days to install, depending on the complexity of the project. If you’re switching from an old fuel-burning furnace to an electric one, or even a heat pump, changes will have to be made to your house’s ductwork. Your HVAC technician will, of course, discuss the scope of the work needed and give you a fairly accurate estimate of the time needed to complete the project.

Temporary Lack of Air Conditioning

There are many reasons why you should book your HVAC installation in the spring or fall, when the weather is mild. During installation, you won’t have access to conditioned air, which can be uncomfortable if the estimated completion date is longer than one day.

Home Protection

While HVAC installation isn’t as messy as a roof or window installation, there’s bound to be some dust and debris, especially when installation involves drilling or opening a part of the exterior wall. We here at Air Quality take all precautions necessary to make sure your home is kept clean throughout the installation process.

Warranty Registration and Quality Inspections

After installation, your HVAC technician will walk you through your new HVAC system’s features and perform a final quality inspection. A representative from your HVAC company will then get in touch with you to complete the warranty registration, as well as answer any follow up questions you may have about your new HVAC system.
